Worker Protection & Disciplinary Safeguards

Can training data from First Pro be used against our members in disciplinary proceedings?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. We have built ironclad protections into our Terms of Service and technical architecture:

  • Individual training efforts are NEVER shared with HR or management
  • Training struggles remain completely private to the individual
  • Our Terms explicitly prohibit using training data for disciplinary action
  • Firefighters work through training at their own pace, on their own schedule
  • Management only sees aggregated, anonymized department-wide metrics

Technical Protection

Individual performance data is cryptographically separated from management reporting systems. Even First Pro engineers cannot override these protections without triggering audit alerts to union representatives.

Who has access to individual firefighter performance data?

Only the individual firefighter has access to their personal performance data. Here's our access control structure:

  • Individual firefighters: See only their own complete data
  • Management: Receives only aggregated, anonymized department metrics
  • Union representatives: Can be designated as privacy officers with audit access
  • Complete audit trail of any administrative access attempts

If a firefighter admits mistakes or near-misses in the app, are they protected?

YES – Complete whistleblower-style protections are built in:

  • All incident recordings are automatically deleted after 60 days
  • Only aggregate debrief reports go to management
  • All personally identifiable information (PII) is removed
  • Reports are aggregated at team level, never individual
  • Honest reporting is protected by contract and technology
  • Retaliation for app-based reporting violates our Terms and triggers contract termination
