Complete guide to responding to incidents using the First Pro iOS app.

Receiving Alerts

Alert Notification

When an incident is dispatched:

  1. Push notification appears
  2. Alert tone sounds (if enabled)
  3. Device vibrates (if enabled)
  4. Incident summary displays

Alert Information

Each alert shows:

  • Incident type
  • Priority level
  • Location address
  • Units assigned
  • Time dispatched

Responding to Incidents

Acknowledge Receipt

  1. Tap the alert notification
  2. App opens to incident details
  3. Tap "Acknowledge" to confirm receipt

Update Your Status

Quick status updates:

  1. Responding - En route to scene
  2. On Scene - Arrived at location
  3. Available - Clear from incident

View Incident Details

Incident screen provides:

  • Full address and cross streets
  • Incident type and notes
  • Assigned personnel
  • Response plan
  • Hazard warnings

Getting Directions

  1. Tap address in incident details
  2. Select "Navigate"
  3. Choose navigation app:
    • Apple Maps
    • Google Maps
    • Waze

Pre-Arrival Information

While en route, review:

  • Building pre-plans
  • Hydrant locations
  • Known hazards
  • Special considerations

On-Scene Operations

Status Management

Update status throughout incident:

  1. Tap status button
  2. Select current activity:
    • Investigating
    • Working
    • Ventilating
    • Search and Rescue
    • Standing By

Resource Requests

Request additional resources:

  1. Tap "Request Resources"
  2. Select resource type:
    • Additional units
    • Special equipment
    • Mutual aid
  3. Add notes if needed
  4. Submit request

Scene Notes

Document important information:

  1. Tap "Add Note"
  2. Type observation or action
  3. Notes are timestamped automatically
  4. Visible to dispatch and command

Safety Features

Emergency Button

For immediate assistance:

  1. Press and hold red emergency button
  2. Sends distress signal with location
  3. Opens priority communication channel

Personnel Accountability

Track team members:

  1. View "On Scene" personnel list
  2. Monitor individual status
  3. Report PAR (Personnel Accountability Report)

Incident Completion

Clearing the Scene

When incident is complete:

  1. Update status to "Returning"
  2. Then "Available" when ready
  3. Complete any required forms
  4. Submit post-incident notes

Post-Incident Tasks

After returning:

  • Review incident timeline
  • Add supplemental notes
  • Complete reports if required
  • Restock and equipment check

Offline Mode

Working Without Connection

If connection is lost:

  • Continue viewing incident details
  • Actions are queued
  • Auto-sync when connection restored
  • Critical features remain functional

Data Sync

When connection returns:

  • Queued updates sent automatically
  • Status changes synchronized
  • Notes and logs uploaded
  • Confirmation provided

Multi-Incident Response

Managing Multiple Calls

When assigned to multiple incidents:

  1. Swipe between active incidents
  2. Each maintains separate status
  3. Priority indicators help triage
  4. Quick-switch from notification center
